2. The device has its own state verification period, counting from the moment of its last verification. If the equipment is new, then the starting point is its initial verification at the manufacturer. This means: the longer the meter is not officially registered, the shorter its service life will be until the day of its next verification.

Installation of water meters is only the first stage of the process, which will allow you to pay for cold and hot water supply according to the readings of individual metering devices on more favorable terms. In order for these readings to be accepted by the organization providing these resources, a number of steps must be taken. The procedure for registering water meters may vary depending on a number of conditions:

Employees of the organization, within 15 days from the date of submission of the application, must inspect the installed metering devices free of charge for compliance with technical requirements. If everything is in order with this, then an act on putting the devices into operation is drawn up on the spot, and the water meters are sealed. The data that was taken at that moment will be used as the initial readings, and it is they that must be entered into the documentation. After this, the meters must be registered with the ERCC (Unified Information and Calculation Center) or MFC (Multifunctional Center for the Provision of State and Municipal Services), providing a commissioning certificate and copies of metering device passports.

If the installation of water meters was carried out by a specialized organization, the procedure changes slightly. In this case, there is no need to go to the regional DEZ or management company, write an application and wait for the employees to arrive to seal it. The installation company must independently carry out these actions and provide you with a complete set of documents:
• copy of the contract for installation of devices
• acceptance certificate for completed work
• certificate of commissioning of the meter
• certificates and passports for meters (if purchased by the service provider)

In this case, you will only need to visit the management company and rayDEZ in order to certify the commissioning certificate. After this, you can immediately transfer all documentation to the ERCC or MFC. Required papers

To successfully register a water meter, the user must provide the following documents:

2. An agreement concluded with a service company for the purchase of a water meter (in the case where the water meter was purchased by the user himself).
3. Agreement with maintenance conditions.
4. Certificate confirming the commissioning of the meter.
5. Certificate of work performed on installation of the device and its adjustment.

List of documents required for registering a water meter

To register a water meter you will need the following documents:

• passports of water consumption meters (cold and hot);
• an agreement with a company that has the appropriate license for the purchase (if the meter was not purchased independently) and installation of water meters;
• act of acceptance of work on installation and adjustment of water meters, which is issued when installing water meters by a licensed company;

The collected package of documents is provided to one of the organizations mentioned above, and it enters the device into a unified information database. Registration of the counter does not take long - about 15 minutes.

During registration, the following information is entered into the database:

4. Initial readings at the time of installation.

If the water meter was installed independently or by the management company

Immediately after independently installing a water meter, the consumer must call an employee of a certified service organization who will check the device itself and the correctness of its installation. You need to purchase a new meter only in specialized stores that provide a certificate for the water meter and a technical passport for it.

You should also make sure that the device is registered in the State Register of Special Measurements, and the serial number indicated on the meter dial matches the number in the technical passport.
